Fireants Invade West Hills
Please check your West Hills Neighbors bulletin for precise ways to handle the fire ants.

Prepare to slow down to 25Mph !

There seems to be a groundswell of homeowners that would like to make West Hills a walking trail.    Step 1 of the agenda is to get the city to reduce speed limit from 30 MPH to 25 MPH. Please start driving your car in West Hills at 25 MPH in preparation for the new ordinance.
Make sure you attend this meeting to let us know how you feel about this change.

Don't let Thieves Ruin your Week!
As the economy continues to deteriorate thieves can and will ruin your holiday. Don't leave anything in your car that's visible. Don't leave your car unlocked, even if its in your driveway. Lock your doors at all times --- keep your garage closed.
Yes Virginia they will walk into your garage and clean your car out.
The one thing you don't want to do is run into thieves in your garage.
Keep an eye out for your next door neighbors. We used to have an older couple next door who accidently left the garage open many times. They could have gotten mugged for something as simple as not shutting the garage door.

There is a group of teenagers who have break-ins down to a science. They have one driver and three runners.  They circle the neighborhood slowly three times and look for targets. What is stolen is hidden out in the yards and later they come back and get their ill gotten gains i.e.  your stuff.
One of my friends had his dog wake him at 1:30 AM AND HE LOOKED OUT IN HIS BACK YARD AND FOUND A YOUNG FELLER DRESSED IN BLACK.  When asked what was going on he said he was hanging out.  The young man left, a police call was made ; but after the police left, came back and robbed two more places down the street.
Another gambit is to for a well dressed gentleman to come to your front door at 1:30 AM  and give you a story about a car broken down and he needs $40.00 .
USE THESE EXACT WORDS:
Sorry I can't help you.  Please get off my property.
Call the police don't bre bashful .  This is a scam artist and your life may be at risk!

WE are a very active neighborhood
Lets look out for one another !
